Bodegones

Este bodegón partió de la idea de profundizar más el trabajo de dibujo partiendo de mi interés por la pintura de Morandi. Pinté las botellas y luego armé la composición con el membrillo. El jarrón y los colores imitan los tonos de Morandi, pero según parientes y amigos, en el cuadro ven también influencia de mi abuela quien pintó muchas botellas, aunque estas no son transparentes.



This still life started with the idea to deepen my skills on drawing and my interest for Morandi's work. I painted the bottles and then I worked on the composition with the quince. The mug and the colors mirror the tones used by Morandi, but relatives and friends also see in the painting an influence of my grandmother who painted bottles, although these are not transparent.

Monotipia

La monotipia fue una técnica completamente nueva para mí.  El dibujo es simple y parece que uno está jugando al imprimir el vidrio sobre el papel. Lo más interesante son las texturas que le agregué después junto con el efecto del uso del pastel.
El dibujo del floripondio partió de una caminata en donde me crucé con árboles llenos de flores.



Monotyping was  a totally new technique for me. The drawing was simple and it seems like you are playing when you print the glass on paper. What was interesting was the texture that I added and the work with pastel to add effects to the painting.
The image of angel's trumpet came form a promenade in a park where I found these trees full of flowers.

Tinta B/N y a color

Me gustó el resultado de este trabajo en tinta en donde el manejo de forma, luz y color es muy interesante. Primero trabajé una forma más simple en grises, luego una composición más compleja en color.

I enjoyed the results of this ink work in which the form, light and color needed to be handled in a very interesting way. First I did a simple shape in grays and then a more complex composition in color.

Flores en acuarela

Con la guía de mi sobrina trabajé estos dibujos de orquídeas con acuarela. El trabajo tan delicado de la acuarela es difícil y es increíble todo el manejo de color, luz y sombra que se necesita.

With the guidance of my niece I worked on these drawings of orchids using watercolor. Working with watercolors is very difficult and it implies an incredible amount of work in terms of understanding color, light and shadows.

Máscaras

Estas mascaras me las trajeron de Cajamarca, ciudad en la sierra norte del Perú y decidí trabajarlas en un estilo andino con formas geométricas y con un picaflor.

They brought me these masks from Cajamarca, a city in the northern mountains of Peru. I decided to work with them using an Andean style with geometric figures and a hummingbird.

Dibujando desnudos

Dibujar el cuerpo humano es siempre un reto. Este ha sido un ejercicio básico de copiar imágenes del cuerpo humano en distintas posiciones. Lo emotivo fue hacerlo de un libro que era de mi abuela y con mi sobrina artista.

Drawing human figures is always a challenge. This has been a basic exercise in which I copied images in different positions. What was touching was using my grandmother's book  with my niece who is an artist.

Arboles

El proceso de pintar los árboles pasó de hacer dibujos a lapiz de troncos de árboles, sin la copa en distintos lugares como el campo y parques en la ciudad.
Luego decidí pasarlos a un formato mediano y combinar tres de los dibujos para armar una composición.
Los árboles tienen mucho simbolismo. Puede ser tu vida, tu familia, tus raíces. Todas están presentes en este cuadro.

The process of painting these trees started by sketching trees without leaves in different places such as the countryside and parks in the city.
Then I decided to combine three of them in order to make a composition.
Trees are symbols of different things. It can be your life, your family, your roots. All of these are present in this painting.
